Flux Consulting have partnered with a leading consultancy firm based in Cambridge, UK, specializing in providing high-quality quantity surveying services across residential, commercial, and industrial sectors. We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the team.
You will play a pivotal role in managing cost-related aspects of the construction projects, ensuring value for money while meeting the highest standards of quality and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience within a consultancy or QS practice, with a proven track record in residential, commercial, and industrial projects.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage all phases of the cost management process, from initial feasibility studies and budget estimates to final accounts.
* Prepare detailed cost plans, estimates, and bills of quantities.
* Conduct risk and value management and cost control during the design and construction phases.
* Provide procurement advice and prepare tender documentation.
* Evaluate and negotiate contracts, ensuring compliance with project specifications and legal requirements.
* Perform regular site visits to monitor progress and ensure adherence to budget and quality standards.
* Lead and mentor junior quantity surveyors, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
* Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure successful project delivery.
* Prepare and present detailed reports to clients, stakeholders, and senior management.
* Assist in business development activities, identifying new opportunities and contributing to the growth of the consultancy.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
* Chartered status with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) is highly desirable.
* Minimum of 5 years' experience in a consultancy or QS practice, with a strong portfolio of residential, commercial, and industrial projects.
* Comprehensive knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
* Proficiency in using industry-standard software and tools for cost management and reporting.
* Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
* Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively under pressure.
