The Role
Reporting to the CFO, as part of a rapidly growing multi-site business, the Finance Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects and activities of the finance function.
This is a hands-on role and will take on some human resources tasks.
Responsibilities
* Preparing accurate monthly management accounts for review
* Preparing commentary and variance analysis of the monthly management packs
* Completing balance sheet reconciliations
* Maintaining a 13week cashflow forecast
* Maintaining the fixed assets including depreciation, additions, and disposals
* Preparing and submitting quarterly VAT returns
* Preparing and processing the monthly payroll accurately
* Building and maintaining strong relationships with the operations teams to support with the day to day running
* Checking the accuracy and approving invoices
* Preparing and raising the monthly pay runs
* Inputting purchase invoices accurately onto the system
* Requesting quotes and raising purchase orders
* Setting up new suppliers and customers on the finance system
* Bank reconciliation
* Raising sales invoices and repeating invoice templates
* Chasing any outstanding customer debt
* Preparing and managing employee contracts
* Holiday record management
Desirable
* Newly qualified or in the final stages of becoming a qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA)
* Previous experience of producing monthly management accounts
* Confident and competent user of Excel and accountancy systems
* Confident, willing and able to pick up a new assignment quickly, including adhoc tasks, whilst continuing to managing BAU
* Previous experience of working in an SME environment with an appreciation of the need to be flexible and agile
* Strong team player with a high level of resilience
