Job Description:
We are seeking a driven Fire Damper Engineer to join our team. You will work alongside a qualified Fire Damper Engineer, receiving onsite training and gaining hands-on experience. Your responsibilities will include maintaining and repairing smoke/fire dampers, fault-finding, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. This role requires the use of a mobile application for reporting, which involves entering details and uploading photos of the dampers.
Key Responsibilities:
* Report directly to the lead Fire Damper Engineer.
* Perform maintenance, repair, commissioning, and service support on various fire and smoke dampers.
* Install and replace different types of fire and smoke damper equipment as needed.
* Identify faults and report findings accurately.
* Complete necessary paperwork, utilizing a live reporting mobile app.
* Attend pre-safety briefings with site management when required.
* Participate in all pre-job “Toolbox Talks.”
* Adhere to safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE.
* Comply with company policies, procedures, and processes to maintain accreditation with safe contractor, CHAS, and ISO standards.
Person Specification:
* Educated to a higher education level, preferably in science or engineering.
* Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical fire systems design and industry regulations (desirable).
* Strong interpersonal skills for consulting, building relationships, and proposing credible solutions.
* Proficient in written communication for internal and external correspondence.
* Ability to liaise and develop working relationships with customers and colleagues.
* Commitment to supporting the company’s goals and schedule.
* Developed IT skills, including proficiency with mobile apps, Excel, and Word.
* Professional and positive representation of the business.
Experience & Qualifications:
* Basic understanding of mechanical fire systems design and industry regulations (desirable).
* CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) card.
* Asbestos awareness certification.
* Successful applicants will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.
* Valid driving license
