Job Description: We are looking for a reliable and proactive School Caretaker to ensure the smooth operation and maintenance of our school premises. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform regular maintenance and minor repairs on the school building and grounds
Ensure the school is secure, including locking and unlocking the premises
Oversee the cleanliness of classrooms, restrooms, and common areas
Monitor and maintain heating, ventilation, and lighting systems
Manage waste disposal and recycling programs
Coordinate with external contractors for specialized repairs and services
Support the setup and dismantling of equipment for school events and activities
Conduct routine inspections to identify health and safety hazards
Respond promptly to emergency situations and urgent maintenance requests
Qualifications and Skills:
Proven experience working as a caretaker or in a similar role within a school environment
Strong practical skills in basic plumbing, carpentry, and electrical work
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong communication skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor
Knowledge of health and safety regulations and procedures
Ability to handle physical tasks, including lifting and carrying equipment
Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends as required

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
