Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical Bias)
The Role
This position is working for a global manufacturing company at one of their new recycling plants in Carrington. You will have the opportunity to work on a range of the latest machinery, including robotics. You will be responsible for ensuring that the site has greater than 95% availability through both planned and unplanned maintenance, carried out in a safe, efficient and cost-effective manner.
Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical Bias)
Main Responsibilities
• To comply with all H&S regulations regarding equipment installations, maintenance and daily inspections and report any operational issues.
• To ensure that all contract targets are met and all best practices and legal compliances for maintaining equipment are adhered to at all times.
• To ensure that the depot is maintained allowing the facility to be operated at its optimum.
• Keeps accurate maintenance record keeping against planned and unplanned maintenance work.
• Complete defect reports in a timely manner and report into the line manager.
• To plan, follow up and document the preventive maintenance for the equipment.
• To manage the relationship with maintenance subcontractors.
• Managing subcontractors for invoicing on time and correctly.
• To manage spare parts stock.
• To chase subcontractors for daily updates on equipment services.
• To find alternatives to get a repair done.
• To find spare parts alternatives.
• To evaluate current service subcontractors and equipment suppliers.
• To maintain industry sector knowledge, especially Best Available Techniques.
Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical Bias)
The Candidate
• Mechanical Engineering qualification.
• Ideally some form of Electrical qualification e.g. 18th Edition, NVQ, City & Guilds.
• Multi skilled across Mechanical and Electrical disciplines.
• Experience of automated equipment including recycling machinery, sortation and conveyor systems.
• Experience of working to H&S standards.
• Experience of planned and preventative maintenance.
