About the role
First point of contact for support queries into the Data team. The role exists to handle the majority of the day to data reactive support in the team,allowing the rest of the team to concentrate on pro active data projects.nThis support activity helps keeps the lights on providing data updates, data extracts, data investigations to keep the business applications running smoothly.
Responsibilities:nRespond to and resolve data related support tickets in a timely manner.nProvide initial support for data queries, issues, and performance concerns.nTroubleshoot and diagnose SQL problems, escalating complex issues to the rest of the data team when necessary.nDevelop and execute SQL queries to analyse and extract data for business requests, troubleshooting and reporting purposesnDeliver exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders.nMaintain clear and professional communication throughout the support process.nDocument solutions and create knowledge base articles to aid in future support and training.nWork closely with the IT support and development teams and other departments to address and resolve data related issues.nParticipate in regular team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.nGenerate regular reports on support ticket status, common issues, and system performance.nProvide feedback and recommendations to improve Data Team support processes and system configurations.nAssist in Monitoring SQL server performance, including health checks and routine maintenance tasks.
Requirements:
Essentialnwork experience as a SQL Support specialist or similar role,nSQL Skillsnyears experience of T-SQL scripting and using Microsoft SQL Servernof updatingcreating simple SSRS reports and maintaining subscriptionsnproblem-solving and analytical skills with strong attention to detailnto detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality workncommunication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams (both technical and non-technical)nto work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities simultaneouslynand able to work independently as well as part of a team
Desirablenof using Jira Service Desknexperience in data integration, ETL development, data transformations, and data management.nof PowerBInin other advance database technologies like PostgreSQL, MySQL is a plus .nwith cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and their RDBMS databases.
