About the role - Technical Sales Consultant
Reporting to the Global Technical Sales Lead, you will help some of the world’s best retailers understand how Poq’s technology can take them to an entirely new level. Taking a tech focus, you will be crafting solutions that help our customers solve some of their biggest business challenges in new and exciting ways.
You’ll possess previous experience of selling SaaS solutions or providing consultancy services into Retail establishments, but with an emphasis on the end user customer (B2B2C) and tech support. You will also be educating prospects on omni-channel consumer journeys and maintain a thorough and detailed knowledge of our product portfolio/roadmap and its positioning.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual who can help evangelise the benefits of using the Poq app commerce platform to deliver significant business value. You’ll be supporting the team from the early stages of a sales engagement through to the final presentations, solution design and scope.
What You’ll Do
- Providing technical support and sales expertise to pre-sales and post-sales situations
- Communicating highly technical concepts to a variety of audiences, including executive level decision-makers
- Producing and delivering tailored demonstrations of Poq’s platform that solves business challenges
- Producing and presenting feature / function analysis of mobile apps and ecommerce websites, finding gaps and areas to improve on
- The ability to understand customer issues and map high level business issues to the technical solution and to provide a roadmap for the customer’s success
- Undertaking analysis of customers’/prospects technology stacks in order to communicate the business value Poq can bring
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients and prospects and work closely with them on their business requirements, bridging the gap between technology and the business
- Working seamlessly with various internal teams including Product, Engineering, Professional Services and Customer Success
- Conveying customer requirements to Product Management and Professional Services teams
- Supporting technical qualification of sales opportunities via technical discovery calls and meetings
- Keeping up-to-date on relevant competitive solutions, products and services
- Providing feedback and prototype ideas from the field to our Product team
- Developing long-term relationships with key prospects and customers
- Supporting the solution architects to prepare costed solution proposals and responding to various requests to support the sales process
- Supporting prospects and clients to define priorities for their app development roadmap
- Supporting Poq business partners on pre-sales engagements
- Stay up to date with the market and Poq platform releases in order to advise customers and prospects
What we’re looking for
- Relevant experience in the software industry
- Experience of selling software or providing technical consultancy services into Retail sector clients
- Experience communicating high-level technical concepts, with an understanding of front-end, middleware and back-end technologies and frameworks. Comfortable presenting technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong educational and consultancy approach with new market technologies and/or start-up experience, with commercial awareness; preferably with a minimum 2 years’ experience of working with sales teams in a pre-sales/technical environment
- Experienced in a client-facing, consulting, or sales functions
- Motivated by blending technical with commercial skills and collaborating with internal and external teams to achieve goals
- You’re talented at quickly finding simple solutions to complex problems
- You are an excellent communicator who can present and illustrate business value at every level
- Strong organisational skills along with the ability to work to a deadline
- A self-starter, curious and prepared for some travel and working across different time zones
- Can demonstrate a clear understanding of ROI concepts and business cases, and can prove an ability to sell in value and business-oriented manner
