Formby Hall Golf Resort & Spa is growing — and we’re looking for a high-performing, forward-thinking Hotel Financial Controller to join our senior leadership team. This is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing all financial operations of the resort, driving commercial performance, ensuring compliance, and helping shape the future strategy of the business. What You’ll Be Doing As our Financial Controller, you’ll lead the full financial function of the resort, providing insight, analysis, and strategic direction to the senior team. Key responsibilities include: Leading budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and analysis Implementing robust internal controls and financial policies Driving cost control and revenue optimisation to improve profitability Finalising monthly, quarterly and annual accounts with accuracy and pace Managing cash flow, annual budgets and variance analysis Monitoring financial performance against targets and KPIs Preparing financial reports and presentations for senior stakeholders Ensuring full compliance with regulatory and tax requirements Leading and developing the finance team Liaising with auditors, banks, and financial partners What We’re Looking For You’ll be an experienced financial leader with a strong hospitality background and exceptional analytical skills. Ideally, you will bring: Experience as a Financial Controller or Finance Manager (hospitality preferred) Strong knowledge of hotel finance operations and accounting standards USALI experience (desirable) Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis Excellent systems proficiency (Opera, Journey, Sage advantageous) Strong understanding of internal controls A high level of accuracy and the ability to perform under pressure Proven leadership capability and ability to influence non-financial stakeholders Advanced Excel and strong Microsoft Office skills Professional qualifications (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) highly desirable Why Join Formby Hall?
