BRADFORD
I am looking for an experienced CNC Vertical Cutting Operator with a background in either Upholstery or Textiles to work as a CNC Textile Conversion Supervisor, for a small but busy Manufacturing company based in Bradford.
You will be responsible for producing precision cut parts by Programming, Setting and Operating a CNC Vertical Cutting Machine. AS the team grows, this will evolve into a Team Leading/Supervising role, looking after a small team of Machinists.
Day to day duties within the role will include:
-Collaborating with the Engineer and Production Manager to discuss orders, processes and/or issues
-Programme and adjust machine controls including blade tension and cutting speeds, making adjustments when fabric types and styles changes to produce specified products
-Operate the machine to cut multiple layers of fabric into parts for upholstery
-Conduct test runs to obtain product samples and verify settings
-Inspect and text products to ensure Quality Standards and Specifications are met
-Record detailed information about machine settings and completed work
-Clean, oil and lubricate machine using air hoses, cleaning solutions, rags, oilcans and grease guns
-Supervise a small team of Machinists ensuring KPI’s are met, and Health and Safety is adhered too
Key skills needed for this role include:
-Upholstery and/or Textile experience is essential
-Preferably 2+ years of CNC Vertical Cutting Machine experience
-CAD knowledge is desirable
-Must be KPI focussed
-Ability to follow both Verbal and Written instructions
-Good IT knowledge especially MS Excel
-Strong problem-solving skills with a big focus on improvement
-High attention to detail
-Excellent organisational and communication skills
The role is based on the Day shift, 8am to 5pm, although flexibility in start and finish times to suit needs will be vital. The role is advertised as Permanent with an initial starting salary of up to £30,160pa (£14.50p/hr) which can rise over time.
