We’re looking for a Clinical Specialist Technologist to join our Molecular Imaging at The Harley Street Clinic and Leaders of Oncology Care, currently rated “Outstanding” by the CQC.

At The Harley Street Clinic and Leaders in Oncology Care, we provide a range of complex care services, specialising in oncology, cardiology and neuroscience. From open heart surgery to pioneering techniques to treat cancer, our clinicians work together to provide the best possible care and treatments for our patients. Our staff always go the extra mile in caring for our patients which can be demonstrated by our recent outstanding rating awarded by the CQC.

Our Molecular Imaging Department covers a full range of oncological and non-oncological radioisotope imaging, as well as radioisotope therapy. At The Harley Street Clinic, we have a PET/CT scanner and a SPECT/CT gamma-camera, providing diagnostic Nuclear Medicine, PET/CT, and CT scans. Meanwhile, the LOC department is equipped with a PET/CT scanner and offers Diagnostic CT and PET/CT scans.

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced PET/CT and CT Radiographer to join our vibrant and fast-paced department. Ideal candidates will have substantial experience in CT scanning, with PET/CT experience being a plus, though not required.

You should be flexible and adaptable to meet the evolving needs of our service. In this role, you will actively contribute to training junior staff and drive our quality improvement initiatives. A positive attitude, strong teamwork skills, and previous senior-level experience are essential, along with the ability to work independently.

Principal duties

To skilfully perform a wide range of CT and PET/CT scans
To act as an Operator under IR(ME)R17,
To ensure that quality assurance of equipment is carried out in line with departmental policy, recording and report faults in a timely manner and where appropriate implement corrective action,
To comply with legislative and hospital policies & procedures to ensure patient safety, in particular Radiation Protection and Infection Control.
To liaise with reporting consultants to clarify or discuss requests for complex examinations.
To prioritise patients to ensure optimum efficiency and service quality.
To maintain a high standard of patient care through good clinical practice.
To be able to work unsupervised, seeking advice from the superintendent or medical staff when required.
To rotate between departments as required.
To assist with training of new staff.
To assist with patient bookings and administrative duties where necessary.
To support departmental audits in accordance with clinical governance policies.
To assist with the implementation of new policies within the department and monitor their effectiveness.

Skills & Experience

BSc Radiography
HCPC registration (essential)
Previous senior-level experience with comprehensive post qualification work experience in CT
