We are excited to be supporting Rochdale Boroughwide Housing (RBH) on the search for their Director of Governance who will have strategic responsibility for the governance, legal and assurance ensuring the society is well protected and governed well.


They will be Company Secretary and will report into the Executive Director of Corporate Services.


RBH has approx. 12,500 properties and just over 600 colleagues. They are on a journey and are putting their customers at the heart of everything they do. RBH are a Mutual Society which means they are owned and managed by their customers and colleagues which ensures voices are heard loud and clear throughout the business.

Governance: Strengthening foundations through good governance, and managing money and risk well


Key area of work:

  • Fully participate in corporate leadership, driving cultural change and supporting transformational services.
  • Manage a multi-disciplinary team including risk, policy, health and safety and legal.
  • Lead the overall approach to risk, protecting the organisation from harm, ensuring colleagues, ETL and the Board, discharge their duty of care.
  • Lead the Delivery of excellent governance as defined by the NHF Code of Governance.
  • Be Company Secretary and ensure all requirements are met.


Requirements:

  • Commitment to the social housing sector and an understanding of regulations, governance, compliance and legislation that effects the delivery of housing services by registered providers.
  • Leadership of a diverse multi-disciplinary team including technical experts.
  • To provide data, reports and advice to Board and senior leaders.
  • Generate a positive supportive response from colleagues and partners.
  • Act with integrity, respect, and flexibility.
