1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant

This is a rewarding role where you will provide tailored, one-on-one support to help the student thrive academically, socially, and emotionally within a mainstream school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 support for a child with SEN, helping them access the curriculum and engage in learning activities
Implement and follow the child's Individual Education Plan (IEP)
Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to the child's development
Foster a positive and nurturing learning environment, promoting the child's social and emotional well-being
Support the child in developing essential life skills, communication, and independence
Monitor and report on the child's progress, contributing to review meetings with parents and professionals
Requirements:
Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, preferably in a 1:1 capacity with children who have SEN (such as Autism, ADHD, or Speech & Language difficulties)
A compassionate and patient approach, with a genuine desire to support children with additional needs
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and parents
Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 3 in Supporting Teaching & Learning (desirable but not essential)
A proactive attitude, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a supportive team
