Hourly Rate: £11.44 - £14.11 depending on experience

Length of Contract: Initially 3 months

GI Group are now seeking to appoint a Finance Officer to our Public Sector client. The Finance Officer will be part of the Transacting Team, managing key transactional areas of Purchase to Pay and Order to Cash across the organisation. They will deliver an effective service, supporting managers and staff across Transacting Team.
Main Duties of the Finance Officer:
Complete key supplier monthly consolidation and reconciliation
Prepare the submission and approval of month end journals
Review and respond to escalations including pre-legal letters
Work with the regions to reduce the number of PO & Non-PO invoices by using BI reporting tools
Undertake monthly and year end accounting tasks to support month end processes.
Work alongside other teams to provide key financial information to enable appropriate actions to be taken
Provide secretarial and administrative support and advice to the Transacting Team including managing the electronic diary for the department, organising and planning events, supporting with project management, dealing and responding to complex queries and participating in research and development activities when required.
Other tasks as required by the Transacting Team
Role Requirements:
Experience in a similar role, ideally within the Public Sector
Experience performing monthly and year end accounting tasks
Strong Microsoft Office skills
Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex issues
Experience working with Oracle
Basic experience with Accounts Payabale
Experience working with Power BI
