Salary: £96 - £106 per day (Dependent on experience)
PK Education is seeking a dedicated and passionate Primary SEND Specialist to join our team for a rewarding long-term contract at a school near Middleton, Leeds. This role involves working in a specialised provision class for 6 pupils with complex SEND, predominantly focusing on communication difficulties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualised and group support for students with complex SEND needs, primarily communication challenges.
- Utilise visual aids and non-verbal communication techniques to enhance learning and interaction.
- Conduct 1-1 sessions on a rotational basis, as well as facilitate group activities both within the mainstream classroom and the provision setting.
- Collaborate with other educators and support staff to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Implement creative and proactive teaching strategies to engage and inspire students.
Requirements:
- Experience working with pupils with complex SEND, particularly those with communication difficulties.
- Experience working in primary or SEND education and knowledge of the primary curriculum is highly beneficial, however secondary experience will be considered.
- Proficiency in using visual aids and non-verbal communication methods.
- Strong passion for supporting and empowering students with special educational needs.
- Positive attitude, extreme proactivity, and a creative approach to teaching and problem-solving.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to support with personal care.
- Ability to forge meaningful and trusting relationships with pupils.
