The main aims of the Head of Learning will be to design, lead and facilitate an innovative and engaging Apprenticeship Workshop Development programme in line with DfE expectations. This programme will support the members of the organisation to overcome barriers to growth, drive quality and improve their outcomes for their learners. The Head of Learning will make sure that webinar content is engaging and enlightening in a way to support members that is refreshing and fit for purpose. The successful individual will also oversee the creation of high quality and creative content that will mean members will have the tools to create work leading provision for their students and learners.
The client requires applicants to possess high levels of experience within the training and vocational sector, including knowledge of changing sector requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with the Head of Apprenticeship Workforce Development and content authors on all aspects of AWD course development and design.
- Work with AWD consortia partners to contribute to wider curriculum design to ensure consistency and flow of information throughout all CPD themes.
- Oversee the planning and delivery of curriculum area activities and services; including giving expert support to policy briefings where required and working.
- To create and maintain a topic list for Webinars that fits to the priorities of members.
- To introduce and maintain a network of high quality, highly knowledgeable experts to deliver content to members.
- To build a range of Sponsored Webinar topics that fit in with the demands of members and cover content creation, growth, safeguarding and equality and diversity.
- Through consultation and effective engagement, produce development plans, action plans and project management plans.
- Facilitate ongoing focus groups to ensure AWD content meets the needs of the sector.
- Co-ordinate, administer and co-facilitate AWD workshops (both face to face and live online) as and when required.
• Provide appropriate support and resource for other webinars, conferences, workshops etc as required.
- Development recommendations for improvement based on delivery trend data and patterns
- Ensure course frameworks and materials are current and comply with all regulatory requirements including internal and external verification arrangements
- Ensure that performance indicators and outcomes are accurately and comprehensively evaluated and compared with best practice within the sector and more widely wherever appropriate.
- Ensure that performance monitoring and progress reporting procedures lead to actions for continuous improvement.
- Representing the client at appropriate external stakeholder meetings and events.
- To always act as a positive ambassador and proponent of the client and its services.
- Other duties that may be required within the business from time to time.
Required Experience (E = Essential)
Experience of developing and delivering successful learning strategies that promote inclusive learning and engage learners in accordance with quality assurance frameworks (E)
- Experience of liaison with awarding bodies (E)
- Ability to identify, interpret and apply relevant knowledge and information (E)
- An understanding of awarding body internal verification and external verification requirements (E)
- Ability to plan and prioritise various demands (E)
- Knowledge of changing sector requirements, and national and global trends, and the ability to interpret these into curriculum plans (E)
- Evidence of effective use of data relating to outcomes for learners
- Recent experience in post-16 vocational training sector
- Experience of self-assessment processes and writing reports and development plans
- Experience of managing and planning resource
- Degree, degree apprenticeship or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written) including presentation skills, listening, and questioning skills etc. (E)
- Ability to interpret complex documentation and provide appropriate feedback on short deadlines (E)
- Ability to build positive relationships and develop effective partnerships and networks internally and externally (E)
- Proven ability to work as part of team and independently using own initiative (E)
- Ability to use and incorporate technological tools and systems to enhance delivery of learning
Homebased/National
Home-based working is available for appointees for those residing outside of reasonable commuting distance to the Bristol office. Hybrid working arrangements (blending 4 days office-based and 1 home-based) will apply for all others
