Our client, who design, manufacture, and supply products to the construction and infrastructure industries, is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Materials Quality Controller to join their team in Bilston.
Must have a Full UK driving licence, experience with inspecting of welds and experience handling materials.
Responsibilities:
* Assist in conducting material testing procedures and experiments under the guidance of the Materials Manager.
* Record and analyse test results and collaborate with the team to interpret data.
* Support the implementation of quality control processes by performing inspections and audits.
* Assist in identifying non-conforming materials and work with the Materials Manager on corrective actions.
* Work closely with the Materials Manager to evaluate supplier quality performance.
* Engage in supplier communication and help resolve quality-related issues.
* Maintain traceability records for all materials, ensuring accurate documentation and data tracking.
* Contribute to the development of traceability protocols and systems.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvements and quality enhancements.
* Actively participate in team discussions and contribute ideas for continuous improvement.
Requirements:
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Eagerness to learn and grow within the materials management field.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
* Proven experience working in the steel and aluminium industry, including the inspection of welding and formed components.
* Reliable and able to work independently with minimal supervision, and as part of a fast-paced team.
* Self-driven and proactive in ensuring high-quality standards are maintained across the manufacturing facility.
* A valid driver's license is essential for this role.
* Hard working, adaptable and works well within a team. Will be required to prioritise workload well and have a good attention to detail.
* Familiarity with a quality role/background in manufacturing is essential due to the environment they will be working in, and the type of day-to-day tasks they will undertake.
