At Peregrine, we are proud to be recruiting on behalf of our client, a pioneer within the education sector. An excellent opportunity has arisen to work as an Head of Digital, Content Management and Research Services.
The postholder will provide strategic leadership and be accountable for the provision of access to an innovative digital discovery and access infrastructure, content and collection development and the development of research services across the Library Service at our client to ensure an excellent user experience. The post-holder will be a member of the Library Leadership Team and will be expected to make a significant contribution to strategic planning to include service delivery and cultural transformation. 
This role requires a candidate with strong leadership ability, effective communication skills, a proven record in the successful delivery of change projects along with the ability to motivate and inspire others to deliver service excellence. 
Main Duties:
.      Provide solutions- focussed strategic leadership for the Digital, Content Management and Open Research Teams in support of the University’s strategic objectives for learning, teaching, and research. 
.     To lead the development of a collaborative, enabling culture at a service-wide level and across the teams within the remit of the role, with an emphasis on strong staff engagement, a focus on demonstrating organisational values and the provision of excellence in service delivery. 
.     Lead the strategic development of the Library Service’s collections of scholarly information resources to include physical and digital content. 
4.     Lead the strategic development of innovative discovery and access infrastructure to ensure effective use of digital content and physical and electronic collections. 
5.     Management oversight of the Library Services’ budget for information resources including Open Access, and advise on approaches to resource allocation for the acquisition of content.  
.     Lead, manage and motivate multi-disciplinary teams to provide the highest possible standard of service delivery through the development of appropriate professional and quality service standards, workplans and the management of performance to support the objectives of the Library Service Operational Plan. 
.     Identify and lead on relevant projects to achieve objectives derived from the Library Services Operational Plan which may result in the development and implementation of new services/processes across the campus libraries. 
.     Lead on change management plans for projects or change initiatives in the specific area of responsibility to include managing risks and impact of change. 
What we’re looking for:
Significant experience and proven expertise at senior level of leadership and management in a service environment to include: 
·      Evidence of successful leadership, management, and motivation of multi-disciplinary teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality services 
·      Demonstrable evidence of the ability to resolve complex HR issues 
·      Significant experience of the procurement and licensing of information resources to include knowledge of procurement policy and practice  
·      Detailed knowledge and understanding of relevant library systems and access infrastructure to support information discovery
·      Experience of writing tender specifications and business cases
to implement new service initiatives 
. Proven evidence of leading projects from design to delivery stages
