Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - Responsibilities include:
* Support the design, development and testing of electro-mechanical products.
* Prepare product specifications, technical and test reports to professional standards.
* Perform fault analysis and technical investigation.
* Provide supervision and support to junior Engineers.
* Execute changes to hardware designs driven by factors such as cost down, obsolescence etc.
* Aid production engineering and production teams on improvements and issues.
* Support the preparation and conducting of verification activities (e.g. environmental testing)
* Deliver a high level of professionalism and continuous professional development.
* Produce detail drawings to BS 8888 and manage drawing changes. Produce 3D designs using SolidWorks.
* Perform design reviews/checking of drawings to ensure quality standards are met
Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - Requirements include:
* Bachelors’ or Masters’ Degree in mechanical engineering, industrial design or similar.
* A minimum of 5 years of experience as a mechanical design engineer. • Experience of task and issue management
* Proficient user of SolidWorks
* Interfacing with customers
* Proficient use of Microsoft Office tools Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
* Program management and analytical skills, and the ability to organise information and documentation for internal and external consumption.
* Ability to work independently and complete projects with minimal supervision.
* Solid understanding and experience regarding commonly used manufacturing processes including plastic injection-moulding and CNC milling.
