StreetCare Operative

How you'll make a difference As part of a front-line team, you will work as a StreetCare Operative alongside the Lead Operative, delivering grounds services and tasks to a high standard. What you will be doing You will operate specialist equipment such as strimmer’s, hedge cutters, hand blowers, pole saw and other power tools for certain tasks, for which relevant training can be provided if required. In this varied role, you will undertake maintenance work including strimming, hedge cutting, clearing detritus from lanes and footpaths, general repairs to fencing and litter picking throughout South Gloucestershire. Regularly, you will carry out routine maintenance operations including heavy cutbacks and detritus clearance on roadside verges, footpaths and other areas. You will communicate with residents and give good, accurate advice and information and provide feedback to the lead operative and escalate to the supervisor as needed. What we need from you We require you to have experience working in a ground’s role and be able to operate commercial professional grounds equipment such as strimmer’s, hedge trimmers, and leaf blowers. It is essential that you have a full UK driving licence, preferably with experience of driving a long wheelbase transit style tipper and experience in a similar commercial or public sector role or have transferable skills. You must be able to follow instructions, read maps, and complete records accurately. It is essential that you have a good understanding of health and safety and the risks and hazards associated with the role. We require you to have working experience of face-to-face contact with the public, giving a high standard of customer care.  What you need to know You will be working from our Broad Lane Depot. Relevant training can be provided. Your uniform and equipment will be provided.   We require you to travel throughout the authority and surrounding area so you must have a full, valid driving licence.
