Application Engineer – Power Generation & Energy Systems Location: UK – Hybrid / Field-Based Salary: Competitive + Bonus + Benefits A market-leading energy solutions provider is looking to appoint an Application Engineer to support the design and delivery of complex on-site power and energy systems across the UK. This is a highly technical, client-facing role where you will take ownership of system design from concept through to project handover. You’ll be central to winning work, protecting margins, and ensuring projects are technically sound from day one. The Role You’ll be responsible for the full technical development of power and energy projects including: Designing and sizing CHP, generators, battery storage and hybrid energy systems Analysing electrical load profiles, heat demand, fuel consumption, efficiency and carbon savings Producing full technical proposals, schematics and supporting documentation Providing front-end technical support to sales and business development teams Attending site surveys and client meetings as the technical authority Ensuring grid compliance (G99/G59), emissions, planning and regulatory standards are met Supporting project handover, commissioning and troubleshooting when required Contributing to future technology strategy and product development What We’re Looking For You’ll come from a technical background within one or more of the following: Power generation CHP / Cogeneration Battery energy storage (BESS) Standby generators Building services / electrical engineering Energy or grid-related systems You’ll also bring: Strong electrical engineering knowledge Experience with grid connections and compliance Confidence working directly with clients and consultants Commercial awareness and the ability to challenge poor technical decisions A practical, solutions-focused mindset Why Join Work on technically complex, high-value energy projects Direct influence over project success and profitability Exposure to the fastest-growing areas of energy generation and storage Strong progression potential for high performers Competitive salary, bonus scheme and full benefits package
