Our client, a global brand in the FinTech world are looking to hire a Director of Data to help cultivate a strong culture of data-driven decision making across the entire company.

The role:nIn this role, you will work at the critical intersection of finance and data, essential for achieving the ambitious goals and supporting our mission to make money work for everyone.nYou will collaborate closely with the finance leadership team to develop a modern, data-driven finance function. This involves contributing to the definition and execution of the finance strategy, which includes significant investments in systems and automation.nYou will scope and deliver the data work required to support the finance systems—covering accounting, financial forecasting, treasury, and regulatory reporting—while transforming the key processes and controls. Acting as an interface to the engineering discipline, you will lead transformation projects.nAs the leader of a data team, you will build and maintain reporting datasets to embed control readiness and operational efficiency, enabling us to scale effectively. Your work will also be crucial in preparing finance for the journey to a potential IPO.nYou will lead a talented team responsible for building and analysing data models to gain commercial insights into the business performance.

Stakeholder engagement:nEstablish yourself as a trusted partner to the finance leadership team, known for your ability to get things done.nWork closely with finance leadership to define data priorities and support the finance strategy.nEnsure the business have the right data capabilities, infrastructure, and talent to make data-driven commercial decisions and enable robust financial/regulatory reporting.nProvide data leadership and rigor to the finance functionnHire, develop, and retain top-tier data analysts and analytics engineers.

What we are looking for:nYou have multiple years of experience in data, leading analytics teams, and building data infrastructure.nYou consider yourself an empathetic leader with experience managing multiple data individual contributors and data managers.nYou enjoy being hands-on as well as thinking strategically and proactively identifying opportunities.nYou have experience collaborating with senior business stakeholders and finance teams.nYou have working knowledge of Python, Airflow, dbt, Bigquery, and Looker.

Additional desirables:nExperience in one or more finance domains, such as Financial Reporting, Treasury, Regulatory Reporting, Financial Planning & Analysis, Financial Risk, and Investor Relations.nExperience with financial systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Anaplan, Blackline, Vermeg.
