Role: Head of Compliance

Reports to: Group Compliance and Risk Director

Department: Compliance and Risk

Location: Dundalk HQ (Hybrid)


Role Purpose


The Head of Compliance will support the Group Compliance and Risk Director to embed a compliance culture across the Retail and Digital BoyleSports business. Ensuring all regulatory and reputational risks are effectively identified, managed and escalated across all relevant markets.


Responsible for liaising with key gambling regulators across multiple jurisdictions and representing the business on matters relating to regulatory reviews.


Ensuring all operational compliance standards are maintained and regularly reviewed from a quality assurance perspective. Providing compliance and regulatory technical advice and training to all levels.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Assisting the Group Compliance and Risk Director in the creation and maintenance of a series of policies designed to ensure compliance within all relevant markets
  • Leading a team of Compliance experts across the organisation in delivering the expertise and guidance to the organisation on the overall BoyleSports compliance approach across multiple markets
  • Support the requirements to enhance and mature our operational processes. Act as a subject matter expert within BoyleSports, supporting all departments to ensure enhanced compliance and regulatory means
  • Monitoring and maintaining high quality compliance frameworks, ensuring all our policies and procedures are complied with
  • Lead the understanding of regulatory expectations within teams, providing guidance and training to teams across BoyleSports
  • Scoping and management of the onboarding of new countries with regards to regulatory compliance
  • Engagement with regulators in new and existing markets, managing quarterly, annual and adhoc reporting to regulatory heads as required per market
  • Implement and oversee a compliance training programme
  • Training on all areas of social responsibility is delivered effectively across the organisation and content of training is in line with the country’s requirements
  • Communicating regular updates to senior personnel on regulatory matters
  • Ensuring regular monitoring of internal practices meets the regulatory requirements within the relevant jurisdictions
  • Undertake social responsibility audits of all jurisdictions to ensure full compliance in these areas
  • Manage the pipeline of business requirements from enquiry to delivery
  • Ensure our gaming systems are set up and maintained in accordance with the relevant regulations
  • Continue to develop and maintain knowledge on all areas of regulation within the required jurisdictions
  • Always uphold BoyleSports values, work with professional boundaries, maintaining safety
  • Support licence applications for any new regulated markets
  • Ensure all licence requirements are maintained and not in breach of their requirements
  • Occasional travel to Ireland and other international offices may be required.


Qualifications and Educational Requirements:


  • Educated to degree level and /or with equivalent experience
  • Formal Compliance qualification (preferably within the gambling sector)
  • Responsible Gambling training
  • Auditing qualification and/or with equivalent experience


Specialist Skills and Experience Required:


  • Excellent written skills are essential as the HOC will be required to prepare and submit reports and notifications to regulators, and internal reports of progress to key stakeholders within our business
  • Ability to prepare key policies and procedures associated to the gambling regulation requirements within the relevant jurisdictions
  • Ability to lead the onboarding of new countries with regards to Regulatory Compliance requirements
  • Ability to work alone and make judgements without being influenced
  • Compliance experience in multiple jurisdictions
  • Experience within the gambling industry compliance requirements
