To deliver an end-to-end highway drainage service to include routine maintenance, investigations, surveys, repairs, and improvements.


The purpose of the role is to lead a team of supervisors and support to plan, programme and organise delivery on site the Council’s drainage program plus any other work streams that the Operations Team are commissioned to deliver to meet or exceed the required deliverables.


Key Responsibilities;


  • Delivery of allocated works within the annual programme of works.
  • Ensuring that projects are developed and delivered safely on time and to budget as per the Works Information.
  • Ensure that all projects comply with Health and Safety Regulations and CDM requirements.
  • Review of Supply Chain Partners Risk Assessments, Method Statements and COSHH for all allocated schemes.
  • Carry out site inductions, promoting RJ’s Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Procedures at all times.
  • Co-ordination and integration of resources to deliver a project or programme, utilising internal staff, shareholder resources, external consultants and contractors as required.
  • Ensure Supply Chain Partners deliver to all agreed standards.
  • Produce weekly progress reports and complete daily site diaries.
  • Other Ad Hoc duties to fulfil the requirement of the role
  • Manage the performance of the team to ensure they meet the monthly requirements that are agreed in a Performance Management Framework.
  • Completed annual PDR’s with the team, setting key objectives that delivered in a timely manner.


Ideal Candidate;


  • Experience working in the construction industry, preferably highways, preferred.
  • Experience in working with highway drainage systems, including maintenance and repair.
  • Experience undertaking construction work in the vicinity of underground services preferred.
  • Experience in the management and delivery of traffic management preferred.
  • Current, Full Driving Licence.
