SEMH School Key Worker - Great Yarmouth, Norfolk Location: Great Yarmouth, NorfolkPosition: SEMH School Key WorkerHours: Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week + 1-2 sleep-ins per week (Term Time)Salary: £14 - £18 per hour (depending on experience)Contract: Full-time About the Role We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEMH School Key Worker to join a nurturing and forward-thinking team in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk. This rewarding role is ideal for someone with a passion for supporting children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. You will begin as a SEN Teaching Assistant for the first month, before progressing into a long-term, pastoral key worker role. In this position, you will play a vital part in helping pupils meet their Individual Support Plans (ISPs) and Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) targets, while providing emotional and practical support to help them thrive. Key Responsibilities Individualised Support: Monitor progress against each child's ISP and EHCP, promoting their emotional, social, and academic growth. Family Engagement: Build strong, supportive relationships with parents and carers, offering regular updates and reassurance. Collaborative Working: Partner with teachers, care staff, and external agencies to ensure a consistent and holistic approach to pupil development. Creating a Nurturing Environment: Foster a calm, structured, and inclusive atmosphere that encourages positive relationships and personal growth. Sleep-In Duties: Take part in the sleep-in rota (1-2 nights per week) to maintain consistent care and support for pupils. About You A caring, patient, and empathetic approach to working with children with SEMH needs. Previous experience supporting pupils with EHCPs and ISPs. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Able to collaborate effectively within a multi-disciplinary setting. Based in or able to commute to Great Yarmouth, Norfolk.
