Do you have a strong knowledge of EHC Plans?
Do you have experience working in SEND?
Teacheractive is proud to be working with several Special Educational Needs and Disabilities providers across London, who are providing opportunities for an experienced SENCO to join them to help cover sickness throughout the academic year. As one of the UK's largest education agencies, we offer a range of in-house career progression for our staff, which demonstrates our commitment to providing quality staff. This is an exciting opportunity for you to work with a warm and positive school, who are focused on child engagement with a specific approach to children with Autism and ADHD. The school's specialist care, therapeutic services and education provide support for children with complex learning difficulties and disabilities, including social, emotional and mental health / SEMH. The school creates an environment for each individual to develop both academically and personally. This is a flexible cover position which is starting as soon as possible, and will continue until the end of the academic year in 2025.
This Merton based school provides a refurbished building both internally and externally to help provide good quality teaching and therapy spaces for students in Key Stage 2 / KS2, Key Stage 3 / KS3, and Key Stage 4 / KS4. This includes acoustic treatment to provide a calm and therapeutic environment, onsite Speech and Language therapists, Occupational Therapists, CAMHS, Music Therapy, and Lego Therapy. This school provides for children with a higher functioning Autistim Spectrum Disorder / ASD, with smaller classroom sizes of a maximum of 10 pupils. This opportunity as a SENCO is an excellent opportunity to gain experience and flourish within a new environment. We provide 24/7 support and will build a strong relationship with yourself, in order to get a more detailed understanding of your needs and what role will best suit you. This SENCO opportunity will give you the chance to progress within a healthy environment, with an SLT Team devoted to ensuring the staff are looked after.
Our easy and simple application and registration process could mean that we can provide you with a fulfilling job opportunity as soon as possible. Due to our in-house expertise in SEND, we have recently branched out and built a fantastic network with a range of SEND schools all over London, so those with SEND experience and a passion to learn and progress in this field, will be supported through this transition or growth in their career. All people working in a school will need an enhanced DBS on the update service, if you do not have this then we can assist by sending you over a direct link for you to apply to. If you have been working overseas for over 6 months within the last 5 years, you will need an OSPC (Overseas Police Check) - Both of these are needed due to safeguarding, so will be a requirement for all school environments.
The Successful SENCO will have:
Experience working within SEND schools

A SENCO certification
The ability to inspire young minds
Excellent time and classroom management
In return for the above you can expect to receive:
