Senior Operations Manager

Central Film School (CFS) was established in 2008 as a short-course provider with the aim of giving students from all over the world the skills and competencies needed to succeed in the screen industries. CFS has offered degree programmes since 2013, in collaboration with Falmouth University since 2021, and now offers programmes at foundation, undergraduate and postgraduate level, in addition to a suite of short courses. Having moved to a permanent campus in September 2022, located between Brixton and Clapham North, the school is proud to offer state of the art facilities including two studios, a 90-seater screening theatre, motion capture and, from August 2024, a virtual production studio. CFS is committed to supporting accessibility and having a positive social impact. We undertake local and national outreach campaigns and activities to ensure that students from all parts of society can access the training, network and community of practice offered by studying at film school.

As CFS moves into its next phase of growth, we are expanding our team. We are looking for an ambitious and dynamic applicant to join our team as Senior Operations Manager.
Main Responsibilities:
Facilities & Resources
- Operational management of the London campus
- Manage operations, facilities and resources teams
- Assure regulatory and compliance responsibilities (first aid/fire safety/relevant risk assessments etc) are met
- Manage relationships with relevant external stakeholders and suppliers
Finance
- Develop and manage the CFS London budget
- Manage the Finance team
- Report on spending against budget across facilities, resources and operations
- With the finance and resources teams, manage, review and develop finance and other procurement processes
Safeguarding, Prevent & Risk-Management
- Working with the student services team, maintain a supportive and student-centric environment in the school
- Develop and deploy safeguarding, Prevent, EDI and risk-management policies and processes across the wider team, including providing training and support
HR
- Manage onboarding process for new staff
- Administer the company HR software (PurelyHR)
- Support other managers with the development and deployment of team-building activities and continuing professional development across the organisation
- Maintain, review and revise relevant policies, such as the Staff Handbook
Person Description
- 3 years+ management experience in an education/training context
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Genuine interest in education and positive social impact
- Experience managing budgets and building teams
- Proven ability to implement change across teams, structures and policies
- Flexible, outcomes-driven innovator
- Experience in student safeguarding
- Commitment to providing an excellent student experience
- Ability to think strategically and understand commercial priorities
Remuneration & Package
- Salary: £42,000
- 28 days leave, plus bank holidays
