Wembley, United Kingdom Brent Council-Housing Full time

Are you an experienced professional with a passion for managing refurbishment and planned works?

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Brent Housing Management for Contract Delivery Managers to join our dynamic team managing multi-million-pound contracts.

It’s a fantastic time to be starting at Brent Council, as we are undertaking an ambitious transformation programme across the Council which puts our community at the heart of everything we do.

About the post

As a Contract Delivery Manager at Brent you’ll contract manage refurbishment and planned works, overseeing contractors, consultants and other agencies to meet the Council’s objectives and affordability targets.

Ensuring quality and compliance is crucial, so you’ll conduct feasibility studies, manage design procurement, and ensure all statutory approvals and health and safety regulations are met. You’ll undertake comprehensive budget management, including the production of financial reports and monitoring cash flow projections.

You’ll manage assigned projects or programs, ensuring they are delivered to the expected standard. Providing expert building surveying and technical advice to various stakeholders is also a key aspect of your responsibilities.

You’ll also build and maintain effective relationships with providers, partners, and stakeholders. You’ll drive service improvements by developing performance indicators, monitoring service delivery, and implementing enhancements to increase efficiency and effectiveness.

Additionally, you’ll act as the Principal Designer to coordinate health and safety on all projects, ensuring that project and design risk management processes are in place.

The ideal candidate

You should be educated to ONC level and be a member of CIOB, or possess equivalent relevant experience. A PRINCE2 certification or relevant project management qualification is also desirable.

You’ll be able to demonstrate experience of building surveying in the Housing or Property Sector, as well as managing refurbishment contracts and programmes. It is also essential that you have experience monitoring risks relating to contracting and developing mitigation plans.

You’ll have budgeting and financial management skills, with a comprehensive knowledge of M&E, building construction, maintenance techniques, and building contract law. You should also be able to diagnose building defects and specify remedial measures.

To be successful in this role you’ll also need strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate with and influence stakeholders.
