Lead Power Platform Developer - Transforming Digital Energy Location: Manchester (Hybrid: 4 days onsite, 1 day WFH) Sector: Technology / Smart Energy & Utilities. Are you a Power Platform expert ready to lead digital transformation in the Smart Energy sector? We are a critical technology function supporting the national infrastructure for smart and digital energy meters. We're looking for a Lead Developer to define our strategy, mentor our team, and build next-generation, scalable applications using the full Microsoft Power Platform suite, including cutting-edge Copilot and AI-assisted development. ⭐ The Role: Digital Transformer & Technical Leader You will be the ambassador for Power Platform design and development within our Enterprise IT function. This is a crucial role focused on transforming how our internal business operations function, enabling the ongoing success of the national smart metering network. Design & Deliver: Architect and build modern, visually polished solutions (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Power Pages, Copilot). Bridge the Gap: Seamlessly combine low-code and pro-code development (JavaScript, CSS, HTML, Liquid Templates, PCF Components). Strategy & Governance: Lead the definition of our Power Platform environment strategy, governance, and ALM (Application Lifecycle Management). Mentor & Innovate: Drive innovation, stay current with AI/Copilot advancements, and mentor junior developers. Essential Skills You Bring We need an experienced leader who is technically hands-on and strategic. Full Power Platform Suite: Proven track record in delivery across Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and Power Pages. Pro-Code Expertise: Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for advanced customisation and extension. Power Pages Mastery: Expert in configuration, security, and advanced Liquid Templating / Web Templates. Data & Security: Advanced Dataverse skills (data modelling, security) and strong knowledge of security/DLP policies. ALM & Integration: Experience with solution packaging, deployment pipelines, API integration, and custom connectors. UI/UX: Strong focus on intuitive, accessible, and engaging solution design. ✅ Qualifications & Desirables Education: University/Post Graduate Degree. Certification: Intermediate/Advanced certification in Power Platform (Developer/Architect). Bonus Points: Familiarity with Agile (SAFe 6.0 preferred), ITIL V4, Azure certification, DevOps practices (CI/CD), and direct experience in utilities, telecoms, or complex, regulated sectors.
