Job Title: Procurement Manager
Salary: Circa 70k
Location: Crick
Hours: Mon - Thursday 7:30 am - 04:00 pm, Friday finish at 1 pm
Purpose of the Procurement Manager role:
Our client is looking for a Procurement Manager to have responsibility and accountability for the purchase of goods, materials and services to ensure that the company's operational needs are met, taking into account price, quality and delivery and to ensure continuity of supply.
Main duties and responsibilities of a Procurement Manager:
Develop and implement purchasing strategies that align with the company's overall objectives and goals.
Identify and source suppliers that provide high-quality materials at competitive prices.
Negotiate contracts and pricing with suppliers to ensure cost-effective procurement.
Manage the purchasing process, including purchase orders, delivery schedules, and inventory management.
Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
Identify and mitigate supply chain risks to ensure continuity of supply.
Continually monitor supplier performance to ensure adherence to quality, delivery, and pricing standards.
Manage and develop a team of purchasing professionals, providing guidance and support as needed.
Experience/knowledge requirements for a Procurement Manager:
Proven experience in a progressive manufacturing environment
Effective time management skills, adept at multitasking and prioritizing tasks
Experience in negotiating and implementing legal contracts
Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and inventory control processes
Excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with commercial supplier organizations and negotiating with suppliers
Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, VA/VE, problem-solving tools, and components of a lean/continuous improvement work environment
Ability to present data effectively to all levels of the business
Five years of similar supply chain experience within manufacturing, preferably aerospace
Proven ability to make business decisions based on quantitative data and weigh alternative solutions
