RMS Recruitment is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer on behalf of our client based in Newton Aycliffe. The role involves working in a high-speed manufacturing environment for one of our prestigious clients, specifically within an injection plastic moulding setting.
Job Details:
Location: Newton Aycliffe
Position: Manufacturing Engineer
Type: Permanent Position
Working Hours: Monday to Friday Day Shift
Salary: £45-£55k per annum
About the Role:
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for introducing new production facilities and associated equipment, seeking opportunities to improve existing manufacturing processes, and implementing efficiency savings. You will liaise with various departments to capture requirements from all stakeholders and design manufacturing processes for new products. Additionally, you will provide manufacturing estimates and costs for new products and support junior team members.
Concept design of equipment to manufacture products.
Specification, control and purchase of production equipment needed in the manufacturing process.
Continuous improvement of all production equipment resulting in increased efficiency and improved overall equipment effectiveness.
Justifications, specification, request for quotation, and investment requests for new production equipment.
Reviewing documentation with junior team members.
Estimation of the product manufacture process including costs and timings.
Ensure all equipment is UKCA marked with all the necessary documentation.
Ensure manufacturing and maintenance have all necessary training, information and technical files.
Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
The ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously.
Support of contractors and other external personnel.
Collaborate with quality and product support to root cause analyse and solve production issues.
Collaborate with production to identify and assist with downtime issues and efficiency improvements.
Working with R&D and the new product introduction team to ensure the new product industrialisation process is supported by engineering in terms of product costing and product build plans.
Drive the product ‘design for manufacture' and 'design for automation' processes.
Promote safe working through well documented risk assessment, method statements and training.
About You:
Good communicator, both verbal and written.
Good understanding and experience in CE or UKCA and PUWER marking of machines/equipment.
A good understanding of lean manufacturing techniques.
Identify skills gaps and training requirements for the Technicians, Engineers and other necessary support roles.
Either a relevant degree, or a number of years’ experience in Engineering.
A sound knowledge of Excel; Power Point & Word.
Good time management & planning skills.
Able to work collaboratively and able to demonstrate good leadership skills.
Coaching and developing more junior team members.
Able to demonstrate a “What can I do attitude”
