Position Overview:
Shorterm Group is a prominent player in the Rail Rolling Stock Manufacturing industry. At our state-of-the-art production facility, you will play a vital role within the manufacturing engineering team, concentrating on car body construction and welding methodologies.

Your responsibilities will encompass supporting manufacturing operations from initial concept through to execution, which includes conducting technical assessments, maintaining Bill of Materials (BOMs), developing tooling, and optimizing workstation layouts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze technical design blueprints and specifications
  • Create and sustain Manufacturing Bills of Materials (MBOMs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Improve workstation configurations and storage solutions
  • Assess production tools and recommend enhancements
  • Develop business cases for capital expenditure projects
  • Design and acquire jigs and fixtures
  • Offer technical assistance to team members
  • Oversee the implementation of design changes
  • Guide and mentor junior engineering staff

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A robust background in manufacturing engineering is essential
  • A minimum of HNC qualification in an engineering field is required
  • Familiarity with welding techniques is necessary
  • Experience with SAP systems is advantageous
