ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

As a member of the Demand Planning team, the demand planner drives capability and process improvements to obtain an effective and efficient weekly and monthly Demand Planning process.
The role will deliver the business a realistic outlook from demand side that will be used for input into the Driscoll’s IBP processes, covering the short- and mid-range outlook to be able to make the best possible decisions to fit the market demand. Next to that, the role supports and challenges Sales & Marketing teams to ensure that at any given time, the most realistic customer and sales plans are reflected in our systems and processes.
The Demand Planner will ensure customer demand, customer priority strategies, fruit price
optimization and market conditions are accurately represented for the assigned regions and for all berries to achieve strategic price and customer performance targets. The Demand Planner will closely work together with several stakeholders within Driscoll’s, mainly being Sales & Account Management and Product Business Management as well as Supply Planning & Scheduling. Next to that this role will be customer facing as well to be able to get a robust demand plan in place.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
* Owning the demand planning process for a category across multiple planning horizons at both fruit type, variety and SKU level by Retailer
* Translating the commercial forecast across all time horizons into an actionable demand plan which will ensure minimum impact on the packing operations and maximum customer service against the sales plan
* Tracking the performance of Retailers across the agreed supply plan and driving continued accuracy and improvements within the 3-12 week planning window, and yearly plan
* Highlighting risks and opportunities to the Supply Planning Team and developing mitigating actions together with Commercial, Growers and Procurement teams, collaborating with commercial and creating opportunities and Marketing initiatives
* Analyzing Demand Planning variations to forecast/plan and work with the Commercial team to understand causal influences and mitigations
* Representing the Demand Planning function within the Planning group meetings
* Assisting in the delivery of industry leading customer service levels and minimizing product waste through proactive customer and supplier engagement.
* Enhancing forecasting capabilities and accuracy, building relationships with key internal customers
* Providing a clear view of what potential shortage and surplus positions we have against the current demand plans and establish contingency plans to prevent issues, ensuring customer service levels are maintained/improved
* Work closely with Supply Planning and Procurement counterparts to ensure proper levels of supply to achieve the plan
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
* Owning and developing the demand plans for their category in the short (3-12 weeks), and medium-term (1yr) horizons, reporting to Demand Planning Manager
* Creation of a demand plan working primarily with Retailers and Insights
* Drive order accuracy and improved communications from the Retailers to the various stakeholders
* Work with the Supply Planners to ensure the availability of product is matched to supply plans and issues are raised and solved
* Monitor and deliver functions' performance against set goals and objectives (i.e. customer service, forecast accuracy, market share)
* Advice and counsel Retailers, commercial, and Technical on fruit demand and proposed plans
* Ensure the Commercial Planners have a robust and accurate plan to cover the next phase/horizon window (wk1-2)
QUALIFICATIONS
* An understanding or directly related experience in demand planning
* Preferably experience in fresh produce or similar sectors
* Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal relations skills.
* Highly developed influencing and collaboration and facilitation skills.
* Excellent analytical skills and confidence to work with numbers
* Knowledge of ERP & forecasting systems
* Strong analytical skills with experience in utilizing information and communication technologies, along with key sales analysis
* Excellent computer skills and strong knowledge of Excel and planning systems
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with strong convincing skills & building internal & external relationships
* Curious self-starter with good teamwork skills and able to involve any stakeholders on a timely basis to align with each other.
* Multi-task and adhere to tight deadlines. An eye for detail with good planning and implementation skills is a must
* You are willing to travel within EMEA
