A bit about the job:
This role is key to our business as you will provide subject matter expertise, legal guidance, and advice on complex legal matters. This will be done by keeping up to date with emerging legal trends, legislation, and industry practices.
You will be involved alongside a multi-disciplinary team in corporate and international (re)insurance transactions, working with our GCS businesses in London and Canada, also providing legal advice to the business on aspects of law and regulation and legal risk.
Supporting the delivery of good customer outcomes through all activities and deliverables, enabling us to act in good faith towards customers, avoid causing foreseeable harm and enable and support our customers to pursue their financial objectives. Additionally, you will represent Aviva in high value transactions, and collaborate with internal and external partners to achieve the business' objectives.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
* A qualified lawyer who has experience in insurance distribution contracts, including Binders and Slips.
* A background in drafting and negotiating a wide range of different commercial contracts and agreements.
* Experience of policy wording drafting/interpretation, reinsurance and insurance regulatory issues would be desirable.
* Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams (underwriters, finance, claims etc).

* Salary Circa £55,000 National / Circa £65,000 London (location, skills, experience, and qualifications dependant)

* 29 days holiday plus bank holidays, and you can choose to buy or sell up to 5 days.
