As the BPM Automation Technical Product Owner, you will be responsible for the development of strategy, standards and the supporting operational model to establish a well-respected automation service within the IT function of Cambridge University Press & Assessment. You will also be responsible for a team of developers delivering and supporting all automations across all technologies.
You will play a pivotal role in assisting business teams to maximise efficiency across the organisation from consultation style advise on opportunities and transformation programmes, to reviewing tools to meet demands.
We're looking for an enthusiastic and experienced BPM Automation Technical Product Owner to help us achieve these ambitious plans across our expanding global technology platforms.

Be the BPM Automation Technical Product Owner and provide an advisory service to the business. Champion automation and providing guidance/ support to wide ranging stakeholders to understand demand, size opportunities, as well as shape automation journeys.

Focus on understanding demand and current market trends/offerings to shape and improve the service to ensure customer satisfaction.
*
Lead the successful delivery of Automation projects, managing requirements, priorities, and dependencies to create efficient release schedules
*
Develop a deep understanding of the requirements, deliverables and complexities of the projects you're engaged on, and be able to communicate clearly and confidently about those projects to stakeholders at different levels
*
Takes responsibility for supporting all automations, managing communications across wider IT teams and business stakeholders as needed, to ensure successful outcomes and customer satisfaction.
*
Actively drives continuous improvement.
*
Matrix management of a team of developers using strong leadership and mentoring skills.
About you
You will have proven experience successfully delivering automation projects as a technical lead, product owner or delivery manager. This is a role within a technical team so experience with technical project delivery, or involvement in technical projects in general, is an advantage. You should have a background in automation technologies with good exposure to; - development, costing/sizing opportunities, rapidly assessing new tools, planning and team management skills.
Having an in depth understanding of best practices for Business Process Management (BPM) using Appian is essential.
On a practical level you will be responsible for developing and managing the standards of our automation tools through thought leadership with industry best practice and hands on application. This will be for, but not limited to Appian (BPM), to ensure as a service we can meet the demands from all teams across the organisation.
You will have confidence guiding meetings with globally distributed teams, and in working with stakeholders at different levels.
Your experience in these areas will allow you to manage the delivery and onward support of a variety of automation projects successfully, working with stakeholders to deliver best value, anticipating issues, and managing dependencies for effective deliveries. You will have a keen eye for detail and an ability to organise effectively. You will be an excellent communicator, able to give stakeholders visibility and confidence, able to negotiate where necessary, and ensuring the team have a clear sense of direction and purpose.
You will enjoy responding to evolving challenges and be proactive in looking for ways to improve standards.
You will have a key focus on teamwork, and on shared responsibility. You will be a natural collaborator, playing a strongly supportive role within the team in the face of challenging deadlines and ambitious projects.
