The Supply Register is currently working in partnership with the Leigh Academy Minster to find a dynamic and visionary Head of Learning for Geography to join their team from September 2024.

As the Head of Learning for Geography, your main responsibility will be to inspire and empower both students and staff to explore, innovate, and excel. You'll have the opportunity to shape the direction of the Geography curriculum, ensuring it is dynamic and inclusive.

You should have a deep understanding of pedagogy, a commitment to fostering a supportive learning environment, and a passion for nurturing every student. Responsibilities

  • Leadership of the curriculum area including schemes of work, lesson plans, data analysis, raising of student attainment
  • Lead lesson observations, work scrutiny and moderation
  • Contribute to and implement the development of academy-wide initiatives
  • Day-to-day management, control and operation of course
  • To ensure that the aims and objectives of the curriculum area match the needs of students of all abilities and ages
  • To implement Academy policies and procedures
  • To monitor and support the overall progress and development of students within the academy and the Learning Area

Requirements

  • Must be a qualified Geography Teacher with QTS
  • Must have the Right to Work in the UK
  • Must hold an Enhanced DBS or be willing to apply for one
  • Must be able to provide a minimum of 2 years' worth of professional references
