Stott and May are seeking a dedicated Data Governance Lead to join our client's Data Governance team. This role will be Leading the project for all data, ensuring its accuracy, reliability, and consistency across the enterprise.


The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the insurance sector, with experience in the Lloyd’s market being particularly advantageous.


This role provides greenfield-type project works to establish the Data governance function for a very respectable Insurance company


Key Responsibilities

Data Quality Assurance: Ensure the highest quality of data across the organization.

Data Review: Conduct first-line reviews to identify inaccuracies and inconsistencies.

Exception Monitoring: Enhance exception monitoring to identify and address data points requiring review or correction.

Control Framework: Create and maintain a control framework to ensure reliable data for decision-making.

Process and Policy Management: Develop and maintain processes, policies, and procedures that support the business’s data ambitions.

Data Record Maintenance: Ensure data records are accurate, complete, and comprehensible across all systems.

Data Dictionary Management: Maintain and disseminate the data dictionary.

Validation : Proactively validate key data points for accuracy in reporting and downstream feeds.

Anomaly Investigation: Fully investigate any anomalies, reporting, and resolving them as needed.

Governance Framework: Ensure a robust governance framework exists, including reconciliations from source to target across all data and feeds.

Reporting and Analysis: Report on key metrics and analyze any thematic issues and concerns.

Horizon Scanning: Identify opportunities to enhance the data estate and business


Key Skills and Qualifications

Insurance Sector Experience: Strong data background in the insurance sector; Lloyd’s experience is ideal.

Data Literacy : Passionate about the reliability and accuracy of data.

Communication Skills: Excellent ability to develop and manage relationships with key stakeholders, building trust and credibility.

Analytical Skills: Consider downstream impacts of data quality issues and concerns.
