A specialist manufacturing company based in Slough are looking for an experienced Production Manager to take control of the production department within a 24/7 operational business. Attending different sectors in the market, the company has been producing bespoke products, providing solutions and offering an outstanding customer service for more than 30 years.
We are looking for a Production Manager with proven background and experience of plastic Moulding/ Extrusion. You will be managing a team of 10-15 members running the machines across 2 shifts. Additionally, you will be in constant interaction with customers to align expectations and deliver the demand on time, liaison with internal/ external suppliers if any quality issue is detected on production line.
You will need to have good background of production planning and admin activities, being able to discuss with the team on the shop floor regarding what is expected from them, work orders on process and distribute the work across the team.
You will be attending meetings with Directors to deliver production reports, requesting support from Maintenance team to repair any machine/ breakdowns on site and managing 2 shifts teams that run 24hrs per day.
Essential to this role is the knowledge of Plastic extrusion machining, moulding and the general plastic production process, this is imperative as we are looking for someone who will hold the respect of the shop floor and be able to demonstrate an active knowledge of this process.
Responsibilities:
Manage a team of 10-15 members and ensure smooth operation.
Coordinate and schedule work assignment.
Ensure that everyone is following the safety instructions, policies and procedures.
Manage and report performances to the Directors
Participate in investigation, processing issues and provide necessary input to reduce waste and downtime.
Look after the maintenance duties on moulds, moulding machines and extrusions within the Plant
Manage workloads in a fast paced environment
Monitor all work carried out by others to ensure tasks are completed on time, quality, compliance and standard requirements.
Liaise with customers to align their expectation, understand their complaining and provide immediately solutions.
Interface with internal/ external suppliers in case of any issue regarding Quality standards.
Regular meetings with Directors to discuss new strategies and improvements Requirements:
Previous experience in similar jobs within Manufacturing environment
Experience in Plastic industry is essential
Excellent understanding of Plastic Moulding and Extrusion machinery.
Team Management skills
Able to speak in front of groups for guidance
Capability in manage the time
If you speak another language, it will be a beneficial (NOT ESSENTIAL)
Flexibility
Good communication skills
