We are looking for an experienced and highly organised Project Manager to oversee the planning, preparation and delivery phases of utility-scale solar photovoltaic (PV) installations across the UK. The successful candidate will manage projects from handover from the sales department through to the delivery and handover phase, ensuring compliance with UK construction standards and CDM Regulations 2015. Project Planning and Preparation: Lead the transition of projects from the sales department handover through the project lifecycle right through to handover to customer and the maintenance teams. Be conversant with planning applications and executing planning conditions prior to construction activity Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation. Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure all preparatory work is completed on schedule. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all projects comply with the UK Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM 2015). Develop and maintain necessary documentation, including Construction Phase Plans, Fire Risk Assessments, Traffic Management Plans, and Fire and Emergency Plans. Ensure the projects are delivered to the required particulars set out within the contractual documentation Quality Management: Enhance and update existing quality documents such as Project Quality Plans. Conduct regular quality assurance reviews and implement corrective actions as required. Ensure all work meets the highest standards of quality and safety. Budget and Programme Management: Manage project budgets, monitor expenditures, and ensure projects are delivered within financial constraints. Develop and maintain project schedules through the installation phase, ensuring timely completion of all project milestones. Ensure Milestone Payments are applied at the relevant agreed points Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, suppliers, and subcontractors. Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among all project stakeholders. Conduct regular project meetings and provide status updates to senior management and clients. Technical and Operational Support: Utilise Microsoft Dynamics CRM for project tracking and management. Provide technical support and guidance to the project team throughout the project lifecycle. Identify and mitigate risks and resolve issues that arise during project execution. Project Lifecycle Management: Apply strong understanding of project management lifecycle processes to ensure successful project delivery. Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project outcomes. Qualifications and Experience Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred Proven experience as a Project Manager in utility-scale solar PV installations. Understanding of local authority planning applications and conditions Understanding of generation electrical systems and grid connection procedures G100/G99 Strong understanding of UK construction standards and CDM Regulations 2015. Proficiency in project management software and tools, including Dynamics CRM, Microsoft Project, Excel. Excellent organisational, communication, and leadership skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and work under pressure to meet deadlines. Relevant project management qualification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2). Working Conditions This role will require travel to various project sites across the UK. The position involves on-site management, requiring flexibility in working hours to meet project demands.
