Transport Manager - Droylsden
You will be responsible for managing the vehicle fleet and drivers. They will be responsible for planning and scheduling a busy fleet of vehicles in the uplift and collection of petroleum products; they will be working effectively with the other transport and operations staff, to plan vehicle routes by utilising our own and contractor vehicles in a cost-efficient manner, to meet all client’s requirements whilst ensuring the drivers hours are within the legal requirement. They will make sure all drivers, transport staff, operational staff and customers are made aware of any changes that can occur on a day-to-day basis to maintain their already high levels of customer service.
Working Hours:
* Monday – Friday, between 8am and 6pm equalling to 42.5 hours per week with occasional weekend work, if required.
* You will be expected to provide occasional out of office hours support, if necessary.
Job Duties/Requirements:
• Full clean driving licence.
• Transport Manager CPC licence
• Transport Planning/Scheduling experience is essential with or without assistance from scheduling software packages.
• ADR knowledge is essential.
• Geographical knowledge of the UK is essential.
• Experience planning multiple collections.
• Knowledge of driving hours and legal requirements.
• Have experience of working in a logistics or transport office environment.
• Able to process POD’s and relevant ADR documentation.
• Knowledge of fleet maintenance is essential.
• Knowledge and understanding of transport costing and budgets are essential.
• Have good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
• Possess excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Possess strong customer service skills in a caring and empathic way.
• Possess strong analytical and administrative skills.
• Work with a large number of customer accounts and manage appropriately.
• Hands-on-mentality with a focus on attention to detail
• Self-starter with the ability to make own decisions on a daily basis.
• Have a can-do approach to get the job done.
• Have analytical and problem-solving ability.
• Are eager to learn and interact with new systems and people
• Be a willing team player helping to achieve the Company’s objectives.
• Oil industry and knowledge of all petroleum grades including low flash material is desirable.
Experience:
•Transport or Logistics: 3 years (Required)
Salary:
* Up to 40k
