The

Head of IT

is a strategic role responsible for leading and managing the organization’s IT strategy to ensure high performance and cost-efficiency across all technology initiatives. This role involves overseeing IT infrastructure and applications, enhancing business processes, and supporting organizational goals.nThe successful candidate will collaborate with stakeholders to align IT initiatives with business objectives, mitigate risks, promote innovative solutions, and drive continuous improvement in IT operations.

Key responsibilities

Identify, evaluate, recommends options for enterprise-wide applications.nDevelop and implement the business IT strategy.nLead, mentor, and manage the IT team.nIdentify new technologies and process for use improving business efficiencies and decision making.nActs as a bridge between technical and business audiences during solution development.nMaintain the IT security strategy to protect the organisations data and systems.nOversee the planning and execution of IT projects and ensure they are on-time and within budget.nCo-ordinate with cross-functional teams across the business to deliver IT initiatives.nEstablish and maintain relationships with key technology vendors and service providers.nAct as IT liaison between the IT department and others, ensuring effective communication.nProvide regular reports of IT performance to senior stakeholders and management.nMaintain comprehensive documentation of IT systems, policies and procedure.

What are we looking for?

Degree in computing/computer science/Information Technology preferred (Bachelor level or similar).nExperience in IT management with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in the IT space.nAt least 5 years’ experience in a leadership role, managing IT teams and projects.nProject management experience.nIn-depth knowledge of IT systems, infrastructure, and applications, as well as cloud computing, and data management.nExcellent communication skills to work with users and internal/external partners.nEnglish – written and spoken.nExcellent relationship building skills. Ability to lead cross-functional teams, developing and nurturing productive relationships with IT counterparts, business partners and third-party providers.nSolid understanding of business processes and how IT can support and enhance these processes.nExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.nGood understanding of Agile principles and development methodologies.nAbility to articulate new ideas and concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.nAbility to work creatively and analytically.nAbility to work in fast-paced, rapidly changing environment (need people who can be energetic, agile, pro-active, positive and react to change).nIT certifications such as ITIL are advantageous but not compulsory.
