Do you have experience in electrical engineering and ICA, and are you looking to make a difference in the water industry?Do you want to be part of a dynamic team delivering essential capital engineering projects?Are you an Electrical Engineer seeking a role where you can contribute across all project stages?If this sounds like you, then you'll want to learn more about this opportunityWe want to be the water company people want to be supplied by and want to work for.Working in the MEICA team of the SEW Engineering Department you will report to the Senior Electrical Engineer and be responsible for the Electrical/ICA engineering output as part of a project teams on capital engineering projects.As a client-side Electrical Engineer you will be involved across all stages of project delivery, from feasibility, scoping, detailed design, through to construction and commissioning, as part of a multi-disciplinary project team.You will input and contribute to technical deliverables on Capital Projects under direction from the respective Project Managers and the Senior Electrical Engineer, in accordance with the requirements set down by the Lead MEICA Engineer and relevant asset standards.You will be expected to manage and prioritise your own workload to meet the demands of various ongoing projects. You will adhere to Health and Safety/CDM requirements, actively identifying hazards and working towards mitigation or removal of the hazard through engineering design. You will build and maintain/ relations with your immediate peers in the Engineering team, internal customers in other SEW departments, and our framework contracting partners.Although this role offers flexible/hybrid working (office/home), you will be expected to travel to any location or site within South East Water's supply areas, as required, as part of the project(s) you are working on e.g. pre-construction and construction phase elements such as scoping or Contractor progress/design review meetings, defect reviews etc.You'll grow a career with a meaningful purpose. Development of technical solutions and coordinating work with multi-disciplinary teams Process, Civil and Mechanical) Production of technical reports and the ability to work independently and as a team member to carry out checking, reviews and approval of complex electrical detailed designs, to include calculations, specifications, reports and drawings. Analysis of options and selection of technical solutions as appropriate. Ensuring contractors designs comply with the latest company specifications and other relevant industry specifications (Wimes, IET wiring regulations etc.) and legislations. Development of outline scheme designs Assistance in preparation of scheme programmes, estimates and tender documentationWhat do you bring to the role? HNC or a Degree in Engineering or equivalent training in the relevant area. Working towards becoming an Incorporated or Chartered Engineer with the IET. Extensive experience in water utilities would be advantageous. Ability to work closely with others. Technically competent knowing when to refer to others when required. Good technical report writing and editorial skills, and good oral communication. Detailed knowledge of PLC systems, HMI's, Variable Speed Drives, Harmonic filtration, data networks, telemetry systems and Standby Generator systems. Competent IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office suite - knowledge of Google Workspace would be beneficial.What can you expect from us?
