A position has arisen in a brilliant school in Nottingham, supporting pupils with SEND, particularly learners with complex communication and comprehension needs. The right candidate will have a passion for enhancing the quality of education and therefore improving the outcomes of young people. This is a great opportunity for you to join a like-minded Team who are committed to providing a safe and innovative place for young people to learn and thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one and small group support to students.
Implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) under the guidance of teachers.
Support the social and emotional development of students.
Help manage classroom behaviour and promote a positive learning environment.
Prepare and organise learning materials and resources.
Monitor and record student progress, reporting to teachers.
Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and external agencies to support student needs.Qualifications and Experience:
(Preferably) hold a level 3 in supporting and learning or equivalent
Experience working with children or young people, preferably in an educational setting that we can reference in the last 2 years
Able to support the class teacher with challenging behaviours
Knowledge and understanding of SEND practices.
Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
Willingness to learn and adapt to the needs of the school and students.The school has a supportive team of staff creating a caring atmosphere around the school, with up to date educational technology and nearby public transport routes and onsite parking available on school site.
