As an IT Skills Coach, you will play a crucial role in nurturing the next generation of digital leaders. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality training and support to learners, ensuring they acquire the essential skills and knowledge required for success in the dynamic field of IT Solutions.

The Role…


The aim of this role is to develop, mentor, and motivate learners to become the digital leaders of the future.


The focus is to produce the next generation of digital leaders by not only coaching learners to complete the programme, but developing them so they’re ready to take the next step in their digital career and ultimately positioning them to be the future leaders.


Mentoring and motivating learners through virtual sessions to ensure they are gaining valuable industry skills to improve their employability.


We expect all staff to conduct themselves in a manner that promotes great customer service to build long-standing relationships.


The Person…


An enthusiastic mentor with a willingness to get the best out of people. Motivational and passionate about digital marketing, cyber security, software development or IT solutions, who engages learners both physically and virtually from all age ranges.


You will know your learners on an individual level to be able to develop and progress their careers. Aiming not only for learners to complete the programme but to be setting high professional standards. You will act as an inspirational role model for what they can become.


Key Tasks & Accountabilities:


  • To advise, guide and assist learners through the bootcamp programme
  • Managing a case load of learners
  • Take overall responsibility for each learners journey, their progression and provide pastoral care
  • Improve and update teaching resources to meet developing need
  • Adapt mentoring/coaching style to meet the broad range of learning needs, including those with additional learning needs
  • Maintain appropriate learner progress tracking systems and follow procedures relating to quality, compliance, management, and assessment in line with the Standard and all other regulatory requirements
  • Maintain professional knowledge to support in professional development
  • To embed British Values, Equality and Diversity and Health and Safety into all programme delivery
  • Meet KPIs, including timely completions and effective project submissions


Essential Qualifications and Knowledge:


  • Previous experience of assessing or mentoring in a Bootcamp / Apprenticeship / Commercial setting
  • Relevant IT qualification and relevant occupational competence
  • Team player
  • Excellent communicator
  • Strong interpersonal skills with excellent written and verbal communication
  • Highly motivated, persuasive, persistent and patient
  • Professional, have a mature personality and be able to gain people’s confidence and put them to ease
  • Working knowledge of Google Analytics
  • Full, clean driving license with own personal transport


Desirable Qualifications and Knowledge:


  • Ability and proven experience of presenting technical training courses
  • Mentor/Assessing Qualification (A1/TAQA)
  • Previous experience of supporting learners and vulnerable adults through skills bootcamps / similliar programmes
  • Teaching Qualification/PTLLS
  • Engaging Delivery Style
  • Experience of supporting learners remotely via Zoom/Microsoft Teams
