Rate: £70 per hour via Umbrella (Inside IR35)
Duration: 12 month contract
Manages the quality, schedule and budget for all the engineering related activities for an NPI project. Accountable to deliver the scope of work on time and to the original cost estimate. Drives initiatives to improve the effectiveness of the Engineering function and interfaces with other functions to provide effective coordination of metrics, dashboards, functional processes, and cross-functional initiative coordination. Guided by professional practices and policies that are shaped by the role. The role has autonomy, requiring high levels of operational judgment.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
Responsible for developing and managing an integrated schedule for the execution of engineering / technology projects. Interfaces with internal/external stakeholders to ensure organization resource allocation is made.
Ensure on-time delivery within area of responsibility per the agreed constraints, e.g. scope, assumptions, risks, resources.
Can adapt to changes in a controlled and constructive way by analysing root causes, identifying an effective solution and coordinating its implementation.
Has in-depth knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; Has awareness of technical developments in own area. May be asked to contribute towards strategy and policy development.
Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of engineering, operational/product management or manufacturing. Takes new perspective on existing solutions. Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.
Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. Required to lead projects with moderate risks and resource requirements. Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus. Uses persuasion skills to influence others on topics within field.
Required Qualifications
This role requires significant experience in the Engineering/Technology & Project Management. Knowledge level is comparable to a Master's degree from an accredited university or college
