Mechanic / Vehicle Technician

Salary: £45k to £50k plus shift allowance
Location: Port Talbot
Duration: Permanent
Hours: Full time Mon to Fri. Day shifts only. 6am - 2pm, 12pm – 8pm (cover Sat & Sun 1 in 4).

Our World leading industrial gases and engineering client urgently require a Mechanic / Vehicle Technician
The successful candidate will support the efficient and effective running of their Margam workshop
Duties
* You will undertake planned and defect maintenance activities for both mechanical and cryogenic systems
* In addition, you will ensure vehicle maintenance is carried out in a timely manner and is accurately recorded
* You will be required to liaise with external maintenance providers and other bodies eg DAF, ATS, Michelin
* You will carry out the recording and allocation of all parts and their associated costs
* Furthermore, you will minimise any vehicle downtime and react to peak demands for vehicle availability, by working in a flexible and innovative way
* You will ensure all safety procedures are followed and will be expected to play a key role in our safety
agenda Contributing and managing vehicle maintenance costs, identifying areas of cost reduction
* From time to time, you will take part in campaigns to support the company's service
* And finally, as part of this role you will undertake City & Guilds, NVQ's and equivalent qualifications in
LGV vehicle maintenance
Requirements
* Hold an LGV Cat C + E Licence for a minimum of 3 years with no more than 3 valid penalty points
* Hold a Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (DCPC)
* Have experience of maintenance operations with the initiative to prioritise your own workload
* Also, you have a thorough knowledge of the LGV Tester's manual
* You are computer literate, specifically using Office 365, Windows, Outlook , SAP
* You have experience in interacting with both external and internal customers
* You are a naturally highly safety conscious individual
* You enjoy and are able to work as part of a team
* Holding a current ADR Licence is desirable but is not essential as this can be trained
* You will work with integrity, role modelling the behaviours aligned to an all-inclusive workplace
