Position Overview: The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will be a key member of the executive team, responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the company and playing a pivotal role in strategic planning and decision-making. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance within the beverage or consumer goods industry, along with significant experience in fundraising and capital management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Financial Management:
- Develop and execute the company’s financial strategy to support business growth and profitability.
- Provide strategic recommendations to the CEO and executive team based on financial analysis and projections, cost identification, and revenue/expense analysis.
- Lead long-term budgetary planning and cost management in alignment with the company’s strategic plan.
- Fundraising and Investor Relations:
- Identify and secure funding opportunities, including equity and debt financing.
- Develop and maintain relationships with investors, financial institutions, and other stakeholders.
- Prepare and present financial and operational information to current and potential investors.
- Financial Operations and Reporting:
- Oversee all aspects of financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, and compliance.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Implement and maintain robust internal controls and financial procedures.
- Risk Management:
- Identify and manage financial risks, ensuring the company's assets and earnings are protected.
- Develop risk management strategies and processes, including insurance coverage and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead and mentor the finance and accounting teams, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
- Recruit, develop, and retain top talent within the finance department.
- Operational Efficiency:
- Optimize the company’s financial performance by analyzing operational efficiency and recommending improvements.
- Oversee the implementation of new financial systems and technology to streamline operations.
Qualifications:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive financial leadership experience, preferably within the beverage or consumer goods industry.
- Proven experience in fundraising, including equity and debt financing is essential
- Strong understanding of corporate finance, accounting principles, and financial regulations.
- Exceptional analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
