The Role
We are looking for an ambitious paralegal to join our busy practice.
Rather than sitting in departments, we usually organise work in small, efficient teams. This gives our litigators the best opportunities to improve their skills, and we strongly believe that our clients’ interests are best served in this way. This role is primarily to support a small team on a specific project related to Media, Technology and Journalism so knowledge and genuine interest in this area is preferred. There will also be opportunity to support across other areas of the firm.
The level of responsibility and exposure to high-level work for paralegals is unusually high at JHA. This is a fantastic role for a self-motivated and autonomous individual, who may be seeking a different environment than the usual large corporate law firm. There will be opportunities to learn from and work alongside hard-working, accomplished professionals who strive to provide the most effective advice and strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Working closely with and supporting senior partners and associates.
- Researching specific topics and preparing clear and concise reports.
- Building rapport and maintaining good working relationships with colleagues, clients, and external organisations.
- Producing consistent, accurate and high-quality work.
- Assisting with document management, archiving and electronic disclosure.
- Other general administrative duties as necessary.
- Willingness to be involved, driven by the desire to learn and develop yourself.
Skills and Qualifications
- Strong academic qualifications from a highly regarded university, ideally with a First Class degree (or equivalent).
- At least 6 months of experience as a paralegal or administrator with a reputable firm, ideally prior experience working with private family offices.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, organisation skills, and attention to detail.
- Desire to be part of a forward-thinking, fast-paced and dynamic firm.
- Proactive with a hands-on attitude and an enthusiasm for engaging in a wide breadth of duties.
