Principal Power System Engineer

If so, then this is the company and role for you We are seeking a Senior or Principal Power System Engineer to work remotely or hybrid in one of the many office locations around the UK.

The Company

Our client is a UK founded business that is internationally trusted across the industry to deliver multiple complex Renewable Energy, Environmental, and Engineering projects. This is a company that will encourage you to take ownership, be confident, and curious using your own innovative and entrepreneurial mindset.

The Role

This role has opened due to continued growth, ongoing development, and secured projects. You will be joining the technology team that operates across a broad range of projects from single renewable energy installations, onsite generation to multi-GW offshore generation, grid and private projects.

Essential Attributes
  1. Engaging with the electricity transmission, distribution companies, and the Electricity System Operator in the UK.
  2. Knowledge of UK Grid Code and specifically application of the requirements to generation projects.
  3. Practical experience conducting detailed power system studies including load flow, short circuit analysis, fault ride through, and EMT using industry standard software solutions.
  4. Analyzing energy regulatory framework.
  5. Commercial awareness of the energy industry.
  6. Working knowledge of the full lifecycle of regulatory framework for connection renewable projects to the grid for both Transmission and Distribution projects.
  7. Harmonic Studies DigSilent (Powerfactory)
  8. Degree qualified in a relevant discipline (e.g., Electrical or Mechanical engineering)
Desirable Attributes
  1. Management and mentoring of graduates/consultants.
  2. Client management and development of longstanding client relationships.
  3. Financial management of projects, meeting strict timelines and budgets.
  4. Dealing with Ofgem Offshore and Onshore renewable and energy sector.
