Role Purpose
The Senior Estimator plays a crucial role in the pre-construction phase, ensuring accurate and competitive project cost estimates in line with relevant company policies and processes. This role is essential in supporting the company's growth by securing profitable projects through comprehensive and well-informed bidding processes.
Role Summary
Be able to carry out take-offs from drawings / BIM CAD models.nBe able to build up rates for labour, plant, material, subcontract from first principles.nResponsible for ensuring all tender deliverables are met within defined timescales.nUnderstand contract requirements, specifications, obligations, roles and responsibilities.nComplete tender appraisals within required timescales.nPrepares / prices tender submissions with most advantageous, accurate nett bids in line with any framework agreements / rates.nCommunicate any issues within individual tenders or groups of bids that will present operational challenges or expose the company to increased risk.nEnsure tenders make sufficient allowance for health and safety issues.nEnsure tenders reflect realistic programmes for the delivery of the project.nLead and mentor the estimating team.
Experience Required
Proven track record of successful bidding and securing projects.nExperience in leading and mentoring a team of estimators.nFamiliarity within the utility sector.nBachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.nIn-depth knowledge of construction materials, methods, and industry best practices.nFamiliarity with Building Information Modelling (BIM) software.
