A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Area Head of Innovation to support our business across Europe and Middle East markets by initiating, managing and accelerating new product projects from concept through commercialization. Based from our Maidenhead office and reporting to the Area Marketing Director, you will define the innovation strategy and vision, establishing and managing portfolio and roadmap, leading processes with Abbott’s Third Party Manufacturing sites and partnering closely with key stakeholders such as supply chain, Affiliate and Area marketing, finance etc.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop and implement strategies to drive business growth via innovation including an innovation roadmap to enhance brand portfolio and market presence
  • Evaluate and monitor performace of innovation
  • Present results, strategy and ongoing projects to senior stakeholders
  • Build and manage innovation pipeline and framework and assessment methodology for evaluating innovation areas
  • Identify potential business opportunities for growth through possible joint ventures/acquisitions
  • Develop and execute agile methodologies and SOPs to streamline and bring about efficiencies in the product development process
  • Utilize advanced consumer insights (demand space, need state, trend, industry, consumer, shopper, retailer) to identify and validate opportunities
  • Lead and participate in ideation/brainstorming sessions, concept/proposition development and product and package testing and optimization
  • Partner with external stakeholders including Third Party Manufacturing facilities as well as internal teams to identify and ultimately execute key opportunities
  • Identify what resources and capabilities are needed as part of overall portfolio to enable execution of innovation workstreams

What you’ll need:

  • A Bachelors degree in Marketing/Business Management
  • Prior project management/innovation experience of progressive responsibility, in either OTC marketing, consumer packaged goods marketing, or a combination of the two, Ability to work with diverse set of cultures (see affiliates / region covered)
  • Self-starter, ability to handle ambiguity, decisive and able to drive strategies and execute accordingly
  • Creative yet with excellent analytical skills, in order to generate, evaluate and implement innovative solutinos based on commercial viability
  • Collaborative leadership and superb interpersonal skills, to motivate diverse cross-functional teams and external partners
  • Entrepreneural mindset to lead and drive innovation by creating a culture of risk-taking and experimentation to identify new opportunities
  • Ability to continuously adapt to new technologies and market trends, always maximising the innovation opportunity
  • Strong presentation as well as communication skills
